2. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with the Site, we may collect:

  • Account and order information: name, delivery and billing address, email address, telephone number, and order history.
  • Payment information: we do not store full card numbers. Card and instant-EFT payments are processed directly by our third-party payment gateway, which is independently responsible for the security of that data.
  • Technical information: IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited, collected automatically via cookies and similar technologies.
  • Communications: any information you provide when contacting our support team.

3. Why we process your information

We process personal information for the following purposes, and on the following lawful grounds under POPIA:

  • To process, fulfil, and deliver your orders (performance of a contract).

  • To communicate with you about your order, including delivery updates and support queries (performance of a contract / legitimate interest).
  • To comply with legal and tax record-keeping obligations (legal obligation).
  • To send you marketing communications about products and promotions, but only where you have opted in; you may withdraw this consent at any time via the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by contacting us directly (consent).
  • To detect and prevent fraud and protect the security of the Site (legitimate interest).

4. Cookies

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to keep your basket contents, keep you logged in, and understand how the Site is used so we can improve it. Personal information collected through the Site is stored on hosting infrastructure used to operate the Site. Where any service provider processes information outside South Africa, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is subject to a level of protection substantially similar to POPIA.

We retain order and account information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described above, including the statutory record-keeping periods required under South African tax and consumer protection law, after which it is securely deleted or anonymised.

8. Your rights

Under POPIA, you have the right to:

  • Be notified that we hold your personal information and why.
  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction or deletion of inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, out of date, incomplete, misleading, or unlawfully obtained personal information.
  • Object to the processing of your personal information, including for direct marketing purposes.
  • Withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent, at any time.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa if you believe your personal information has been processed unlawfully.
