Refund and Returns Policy

This policy explains your rights to cancel, return, or claim a warranty repair/replacement on goods purchased from TauTech (Lagari Group (Pty) Ltd), in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (“CPA”) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (“ECT Act”).

1. Cooling-off cancellation (online orders) — 7 days

Because orders placed on tautech.store are concluded without any face-to-face contact with us, Section 44 of the ECT Act gives you the right to cancel your order, without reason or penalty, within 7 days of receiving the goods.

• To cancel, notify us in writing at admin@tautech.store or 079 624 4450 within the 7-day period.
• Goods must be returned unused, in their original packaging, with all accessories, manuals and documentation.
• You are responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods, unless the goods are defective or were not as described.
• Once we receive and inspect the returned goods, we will refund the purchase price (excluding original outbound delivery cost) within 30 days, using the same payment method used for the original purchase, unless otherwise agreed.
• This cooling-off right does not apply to goods excluded under Section 42(2) of the ECT Act — for example, goods made to your specification, goods that cannot be returned for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed, or goods that by their nature cannot be returned.

2. Defective, damaged, or incorrect goods

If a product arrives damaged, defective, or different from what you ordered, contact us within 7 days of delivery at admin@tautech.store with your order number and photos of the item. We will, at no cost to you, arrange a repair, replacement, or full refund, in accordance with your rights under the CPA.

3. Implied warranty against defects (6 months)

Under Section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act, goods purchased from TauTech carry an implied warranty that they are of good quality, in good working order, and free of defects, for six (6) months from the date of delivery. If goods fail within this period, you are entitled, at your election, to a repair, replacement, or refund, provided the fault is not due to normal wear and tear, misuse, or unauthorised modification. This is in addition to, and does not replace, any manufacturer’s warranty applicable to the product.

4. Manufacturer warranties

Many products sold on the Site also carry a separate manufacturer’s warranty, typically ranging from 12 to 36 months depending on the brand and product category, as stated on the individual product page. For manufacturer warranty claims after the CPA’s 6-month period, we will assist in facilitating the claim with the relevant supplier or brand, though the manufacturer’s specific terms will apply.

5. What isn’t covered

Returns, refunds and warranty claims do not cover:

• Damage caused by misuse, accident, unauthorised repair, or normal wear and tear.
• Software, license keys, or other goods that cannot be resold once activated or unsealed.
• Goods returned without proof of purchase.
• Change-of-mind returns outside the 7-day cooling-off window (handled at our discretion, and may incur a reasonable handling fee if accepted).

6. How to start a return

1. Email admin@tautech.store or call 079 624 4450 with your order number and the reason for return.
2. We will confirm eligibility and provide return instructions, including the return address.
3. Pack the item securely in its original packaging where possible.
4. Once received and inspected, we will process your refund, replacement, or repair as applicable.

7. Refund timing and method

Approved refunds are processed within 30 days of us receiving and inspecting the returned goods, and are paid back via the original payment method (or by EFT to your bank account for orders paid via direct bank transfer).
